Another Brave Priest Steps Into the Breech

The Americano Cristero

Viva Christo Rey!

This past weekend after the Ordinations in Winona, MN Fr. Hewko was asked to give the sermon. Below is the YouTube citation for the audio version of this powerful sermon, in which he contrasts the struggle of the Cristeros, as well as, the Vandee Faithful who fought against the revolutions of their day to what we are witnessing today. In this homily we hear much of the powerful teaching of past SSPX preachers that over the past five years has been conspicuous by its absence. It is a brief sermon by comparison to other brave priests who have spoken out recently, but nevertheless, he succinctly states the problem of Modernism both in the NewChurch and its potential reach into the Traditional Catholic Movement.

I urge the entire readership to listen to Fr. Hewko’s words and cogitate on them carefully to see how they apply to the crisis of tradition we are going through today. By the way, it is my understanding that the good Fr. Hewko has been punished for this sermon; whether he has been silenced, transferred overseas or suspended is not clear as yet. Pray for Fr. Hewko and our other brave priests who stand for the traditional Catholic Faith; give them all the support you can, both moral and financial, if at all possible. These courageous priests, much like our three bishops, are increasingly isolated and their influence undermined.

About Catholic Rural Solutions

This group is for the practical application of Catholic Distributist teachings as promoted by Pope St. Pius X, Belloc, Chesterton, Maurin and others in the 20th century. This group is also a respite for traditional Catholics who adhere to the Tridentine Rite of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and who share a concern for small independent Catholic communities throughout the world. These communities while primarily small holding farmers, craftsmen and tradesman all espouse an integrated life based on Catholic Social Justice and the Sacred Magisterium of the Church. Through this we intend to inject the Distributist economic principles into the greater society. Please fell free to share your experiences in this vein. Flaming, proselytizing and persecution WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
