At the Crossroads

At the Crossroads

Since inception of Catholic Rural Solutions nearly eight years ago the month of October was used to streamline and update our membership lists. With the change in format and the relinquishing of the Saturday Updates layout in March of 2010 I’ve not implemented this necessary housecleaning, so to speak. Now, however, I’m advised that this streamlining and update of the member lists may be in order.

In addition I will be working to officially move Catholic Rural Solutions to a single publishing entity, that is, I will phase-out the Catholic Rural Solutions Yahoo Group in order to consolidate my efforts to the Catholic Rural Solutions WordPress Weblog. Since the Yahoo Group allows for storage of files and photos, this will only be maintained for that purpose. Updates, postings, articles, and current information will be on the WordPress weblog with only references given to files of use to readers back to the Yahoo Group “files”. So in order to receive timely updates members of the Yahoo Group need to subscribe to the Catholic Rural Solutions WordPress Weblog.

Further, with the events of the past few months within the traditional Catholic Movement of the Church, i.e. the SSPX crises, many who may have had an interest were gratuitously added to the postings. This will no longer be the case. If you found the previous postings of interest then future postings will only be through the WordPress weblog.

Regarding the former Saturday Updates feature of Catholic Rural Solutions there seems to be a necessity to reprise this as once again the mainstream media appears to be once again presenting news and information through the prism of their liberal agendas. This goes for both the secular and the religious press. When a mainstream news agency states: only listen to us for the truth, it is time to seek alternative media for a balanced and unbiased presentation. As the course of human events appears to be reaching a crescendo with this being an election year, the ongoing and projected collapse of the financial and social systems, and the crisis of the traditional movement within the Catholic Church, it would seem a revival of a news digest like Saturday Updates is warranted; after all to be forewarned is to be forearmed. So expect by the first of October of 2012 to see CRS revert to this format.

With all the foregoing said, however, CRS will remain true to its original purpose to help establish a Catholic Land Movement within the greater traditional Catholic Movement. History has proved that Catholicism flourishes in a matrix of small family oriented communities, which revolves around the cycle of the Church and the seasons. Additionally, families thrive in an environment where both mother and father are in the home as either homemaker (wife) and a tradesman, craftsman or artisan (husband). This is the ideal and though difficult to achieve in our current social and financial system it is not impossible with determination and re-setting of priorities.

In conclusion, if you’ve found Catholic Rural Solutions to be of value to your Catholic walk in life and you wish to continue to receive it you must subscribe to CRS WordPress Weblog.  No regular postings will be made to the CRS Yahoo Group, (excepting files and photos), nor will any gratuitous emails be sent to those who have not subscribed. I’m sure there are some who received unsolicited emails from CRS sighing a robust Deo Gratius, however, there is much of practical value within the issues of CRS for the traditional Catholic and even others of like mind to glean for everyday living, most especially in these grubby times. While I understand that my message of an integral Catholic life might not appeal to many Catholics who relegate their Catholicity to Sunday mornings, it is most important that we integrate our Catholic teaching into action by walking the walk and not just talking the talk. So even if currently circumstances force you to reluctantly be of the world as well as in the world there will be some blueprint or prototype for you to work toward and emulate within these pages.

Meantime, pray for the Wisdom of the Holy Ghost to descend on our SSPX bishops that this threat to the future of the traditional Catholic Movement within the Church may indeed be over. Pray also that the Traditional Movement may continue to be the conscience of the Church rather than its light be dissipated under the bushel-basket of Rome.

Pray the family Rosary for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary she is our only recourse.

Richard of Danbury, D.S.G.

About Catholic Rural Solutions

This group is for the practical application of Catholic Distributist teachings as promoted by Pope St. Pius X, Belloc, Chesterton, Maurin and others in the 20th century. This group is also a respite for traditional Catholics who adhere to the Tridentine Rite of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and who share a concern for small independent Catholic communities throughout the world. These communities while primarily small holding farmers, craftsmen and tradesman all espouse an integrated life based on Catholic Social Justice and the Sacred Magisterium of the Church. Through this we intend to inject the Distributist economic principles into the greater society. Please fell free to share your experiences in this vein. Flaming, proselytizing and persecution WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
