Texas Cop Writes Struggling Father a Traffic Ticket — With a $100 Bill Wrapped Inside
“You get paid, pay your bills, and there’s your money. It’s gone,” Carlo told KTVT-TV. “I said, ‘it was either feed my kids or get my registration done.”
The officer wrote a citation and handed it to Carlo, who couldn’t believe what he saw inside.
“Opened it up and there’s a $100 bill. I broke down in my car, what else could I do,” Carlo said.
The officer, who wants to remain anonymous, didn’t tell anyone what he did, but Carlo’s grandfather wrote the police department a letter to thank them.
Edit. Once again I highlight a story to prove a point that there are good cops still on the beat. Far from the militarized, SWAT-garbed police that we increasingly run into these days, there are many, many good policemen who still are heroes to many of us.

$5.5T: U.S. Foreign Debt Hits New High; $47,482 Per Full-Time Worker; Up 78% Under Obama
The amount of money the U.S. government has borrowed from foreign interests hit a record high at the end of October, according to data released today by the U.S. Treasury.
Edit. This was reported as the new high for foreign debt in late October, yet in early November we elected this inept clown for a second term. Well, at least now the American public can go back to their Monday Night Football content that they did their civic duty. Set the alarm for 2016 so we can once again be patriots. Yeehaw!

US sending 20 more F-16s to Egypt, despite turmoil in Cairo
Instability in Egypt, where a newly-elected Islamic government teeters over an angry population, isn’t enough to stop the U.S. from sending more than 20 F-16 fighter jets, as part of a $1 billion foreign aid package.
Edit. This headline may not mean much to the average U. S. reader but, in fact, the Egyptian government is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood, which has overlapping ties with Al Qaida the Taliban and other mujahidin terrorists. These organizations, excepting the Muslim Brotherhood, are not really organized in the sense that most Westerners think. They are mostly loosely organized local and regional groups united only by the Moslem faith, and even this is tenuous as there are conflicts within Islam itself. However, they share the same credo of the enemy of my enemy is my friend, so their opposition to Western intervention as well as their hatred of the oppressive state of Israel unites them in a cause.
Now what is not clear to me is, since all there Moslem groups are officially considered terrorists by the US State Department and the Obama Administration under the current War on Terrorism, does this mean that providing F-16’s constitutes a violation of trading with the enemy? After all, many terrorists, including American citizens, have been charged, arrested, and found guilty of this in the past.
If these plans go through this could backfire on the US just as in the Benghazi incident in September, 2012, in which four Americans, including the Ambassador were killed. It is alleged, pending further investigation, that here too we were providing arms to the Muslim Brotherhood, who treacherously attacked and overran the Embassy.

INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey (AP) — The U.S. will send two batteries of Patriot missiles and 400 troops to Turkey as part of a NATO force meant to protect Turkish territory from potential Syrian missile attack, the Pentagon said Friday.

American Atheists Place 2012 ‘Myth’ Holiday Billboard In Times Square: ‘Keep The Merry, Dump The Myth’
The American Atheists group wants to share the “true meaning of the holidays” with the masses. As part of that effort, members have put up a billboard in New York City’s Times Square that reads, “Keep the Merry! Dump the Myth!”
On the billboard, “merry” is accompanied by a picture of Santa, while “myth” sits below a picture of a Jesus statue.
Edit. Obviously, this is just another part of the Culture War we find ourselves in. Along with tearing down of Crèches and other symbols of Christmas and religious sentiments, our society is adopting the religion of Atheism, which also needs to be recognized as such. Does anybody else see the relationship between our increasingly violent society and the continued removal of God from our civilization?

Edit. Although ignored by the NewChurch it is and always has been Catholic Dogma that outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation. Now in the NewSpeak of the NewChurch this fundamental Magisterial Teaching of the Church has been distorted to include all false faiths and religions as being part of an extended Church. When alleged shepherds of the flock begin to teach error we are not only not obliged to obey, but it is our duty to disobey. It is important to be vigilant as this sort of distorted leadership is, even now, making inroads into the traditional Catholic Faith. Yes, vigilance is the key word most especially for fathers of families.

Edit. Frankly, I don’t understand why this is breakthrough research. As an aquarist since childhood I was well aware of the relation of relation of copper with bacterial infect in my little fishy charges. At the first signs of Ich (ichtheosis), a fearsome bacterial infection of fish I would collect a jar of about 200 pennies and submerge them in the aquarium. This in addition to increasing the aquarium temperature the Ich would be gone within 2 -3 days. Further, this fact has long been known, as well as, the effect of silver in killing germs and bacteria. That is why sterling silver was originally chosen as eating utensils and also why colloidal silver is so popular today, that is, the antimicrobial properties. Interestingly, this is the basis of silver bullets in the wolfman legends.

Edit. So now we see the demonizing of “preppers”. Less than a century ago our parents and grandparents thought of “puttin’ back” stores as common sense. Today we are indoctrinated to believe that it is not only useless but possibly a sign of anti-social behavior. Unfortunately, I can foresee the day that “preppers” will be listed with Constitutionalists, militia, and other “gun-toting radicals” as terrorists and on the watch lists of oppressive governmental and non-governmental agencies and groups. Oh! How I miss the common sense of our forefathers who were trained in rational and reasonable thinking.

Actually, the Newest Version of NDAA Makes It EASIER To Detain Citizens Indefinitely
Afran explained that the new provision gives U.S. citizens a right to go to civilian (i.e. Article III) court based on “any [applicable] constitutional rights,” but since there are no rules in place to exercise this right, detained U.S. citizens currently have no way to gain access to lawyers, family or the court itself once they are detained within the military.
Edit. Ben Franklin said: Freedom is not a gift bestowed upon us by other men, but a right that belongs to us by the laws of God and nature. Freedom requires vigilance and also knowledge. With our greater society more interested in reality TV and spectator sports we’ve become a nation of malingering idiots and deserve the government we get. The unfortunate aspect is that there is a minority of the population that keeps informed and is proactive, but they fight against a rising tide of willful ignorance.

Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.
This past week has been relatively gloomy, grey, and damp, cold …but not freezing; unfortunately, this is the ideal season for my asthma and allergies. So I’ve been largely confined to my den, aka “the bubble”, utilizing the filters to reduce contaminants. This in turn precludes me from any yard work, which fortunately, has little to accomplish. I have been somewhat busy down the basement trying to use the relatively low humidity levels down there to do some mold abatement procedures, but this is limited to about an hour a day. As you can see this is slow going.
Meantime, I’ve managed to secure some mature laying hens, which will be transported to the ol’ homestead on Wednesday. This should have an immediate effect on my egg production which has been virtually nil since the predators got most of my layers.
Also I still waiting on a replacement pilot assembly for the greenhouse heater, which I’ve temporarily substituted with an electric heater …ouch$$$! A supply house error revealed that the part was never repaired though I ordered it December 7th. Yikes! I hope my plants and wallet can hold out until the new part is in and installed.
Other than this we are coasting into the Christmas Season and living in the Advent Season of penance and preparation for the Great Event of God made man.
This will be the last installment for Saturday Updates until after the Christmas Holiday, in fact we will not have another issue until after Little Christmas, (which is a big gift giving holiday around here), otherwise called Epiphany on January 6. So as unaccustomed to the traditional greeting as we have become I wish all a very Merry and Holy Christmas.

The Tragedy of Sandy Hook Elementary School
The tears of Our Lady
Terror and death have once again visited our nation. Certainly, what transpired on Friday, December 14, 2012 was beyond tragic …approaching the demonic; and while I agree with President Obama that events like these should no longer be tolerated by the American people, I suspect that we have in mind a different course of remedy for this and future situations of this kind. However, it is my expectation that we, as Americans, will handle this in our perennial way of reacting rather than acting in a positive and constructive manner; of panicking instead of taken deliberate account of what happened and why.
The bodies of these innocent children and the six selfless teachers who died defending them were still warm with the residue of their departing souls before emotionally formed calls for stricter gun control were voiced by the media, politicians, and even the mindless liberal citizenry. They had not even stopped to check that Connecticut’s gun laws are among the most restrictive in the nation, yet this heartbreak occurred within this gun-limiting State. Doubtless there will be calls for not only increased and more onerous laws on guns, but also, expansion of so-called gun free zones, which are counterproductive in themselves because they provide a target- rich, unprotected environment that is sought out by deranged killers. It is a simplistic American penchant to go after the easiest but not the best solution to a dilemma and restrictive guns laws is the obvious “go to” position of the liberal left and the clueless citizenry who have been so dumbed down as to lack any rational and logical thought processes. Yet, by coincidence, a similar situation arose in China on the same day of a mentally unstable man entering a school in his home province attacking and wounding 22 students. According to American reactionary thinking then knives …all knives, should be regulated or banned. We as Americans, arguably the most educated people on earth and maybe even history, cannot get beyond our emotional thought processes and bring our inherent grey matter to the fore to analyze what the essential nature of the problem is and then work on an effective solution. To cite an old cliché, guns do not kill; people kill, whether with guns, knives, or even an ol’ Louisville Slugger®.
In the first place, from all reports we know that the shooter has a socially debilitating mental defect in the autism spectrum of mental illness. This means that they have, in the very least, difficulties in social settings ranging from communications, thorough emotional detachment, to social problems in surroundings like schools. What is most obvious is that despite radical increases in diagnosis of this illness no one deals with the essential root cause, which according to well documented evidence seems to be infant and childhood vaccinations. Even here, rather than act rationally seeking the cause, we simply react by throwing psychotropic and dangerous drugs, drugs that by Big Parma’s own admission, cause murderous and suicidal thoughts within those taking these drugs. In the Sandy Hook situation the mental condition, the drug regime, as well as, medical history, including vaccinations, of the shooter needs to be examined and evaluated. The citation of client-physician privilege is not an issue here as the shooter, himself is dead; and the more important concern of prevention takes precedence.
A second aspect of this is the family dynamics involved within the Lanza family. Certainly, the mental health condition may have put a strain on the relationship of all members of the family, but divorce is not the most productive route, just for the sake of the child himself. Where were the religious pastors, the family counselors, and others who might have averted the divorce and thereby kept a strong father figure within the home? Despite the heroic efforts of single parents, the fact of being single is operating from a weakened position at best! A child, contrary to pop-cultural belief, is not best raised by a village but by selfless, determined, and intact families.
Next we must consider American Culture; I don’t say American pop-culture, because the trouble is deeper than just the popular culture and seems of late to be inherent within American society and psyche; and that is the America’s fascination with violence, blood, mayhem, and death. With the advent of the home computer and video games in the mid-eighties, we added an unbelievable facet to the Hollywood depictions of glorified violence that goes beyond understanding. Certainly, as in most aspects of life there is a causational characteristic to this allure of violence within the American spirit. That sprit was defined by Pope John Paul II as the Culture of Death. Pope Paul VI, in his encyclical Humanii Vitae, stated that the mentality of birth control, which is the separating of the sexual act from procreation, cheapens all life. Within a period of three years of this papal teaching, we saw the legalization of abortion …that is the killing of unborn babes within the shelter of the mother’s womb. Further, today as a direct result of this acceptance of the birth control / abortion mentality we see a movement toward euthanasia and un-procreative Sodomite marriages, which is not only a mockery of the Sacrament of Matrimony, (which, by the way, means office of motherhood) but also an abomination before the face of God. Not to make light of the recent tragedy in Sandy Hook, but more to illustrate the morbid condition of American Society, how can we properly mourn the loss of these 20 innocent souls, when daily we consign 4,000 other souls to the fires of Moloch. Clearly, there is a relationship, if only we chose to see it.
Last, but not by far least, we MUST stop excluding God from our lives. Even nominal Christians realize the concept of sin and that it proceeds from our exclusion of Christ and His Church in our lives and actions. Just as God’s Justice demands recompense for our individual sins as reward or punishment, that is, heaven or hell, so too society, which is an aggregate of men, must give account for its sins. Men are punished in either this world, or certainly, in the next. Society, however, being a social apparatus of the temporal sphere is punished in time and not eternity. As in nature, there is no such thing as a vacuum in the spiritual realm, where Christ does not reign, Satan will. We excluded God from our schools, government, military, and society; therefore, we can expect to see evil like that perpetrated at Sandy Hook Elementary School proliferate both as a consequence of excluding God and as a punishment for such societal sin. Oh! Yes, we had the prayerful, noble, and emotional speeches of our President after the fact, but why is it we haul God out of the dustbin when tragedies like this occur only to toss Him back when the memory fades and life resumes as normal. Remember, that the words spoken during emotional passion are largely bankrupt. Flowery biblical passages like those spoken by Obama at Newtown High School are meaningless without sincere conviction; even the devil can quote Holy Scripture. Certainly, we know that Obama as a proponent of abortion is of the devil. So as emotionally appealing as the theatrics in Newtown were they are mere window dressing for the religiously enfeebled. If these young lives are to have meaning at all, if we are to make any sense of this tragedy, we must pray that this will be the clarion call to all America to put Christ back in his rightful place of Sovereign King.
Let’s pray that the souls lost last Friday were baptized and will, as a consequence look on the face of God. Let us all pray for the families of those lost, our nation, and our own loved ones. Finally, lets us strive to restore all things, especially human society, in Christ.
