A Little Taste of Country to Settle the Frazzled Nerves of the Past Week
Edit. Set down on the front porch, kick off your muddy boots, pour a glass of old fashioned lemonade, look at your kids playing in the front yard and count your blessings. Our prayers are with the people of Boston, MA and the surrounding towns.
Now He’s After Your 401(k)
The White House pulls a switcheroo on retirement savings accounts.
That’s the message in President Obama’s budget for fiscal 2014, which for the first time proposes to cap the amount Americans can save in these tax-sheltered investment vehicles. The White House explanation is that some people have accumulated “substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving.” So Mr. Obama proposes to “limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per year in retirement, or about $3 million for someone retiring in 2013.”

Edit. Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so! So it is interesting to note that as President of the United States his income is about $200,000 per year, and I believe that his guaranteed pension as President is the same for life in addition to health benefits and CIA security body guards for himself and his family for life.
BTW, I predict that this is only the first move against your hard-earned retirement funds, after all the government views them as low-hanging fruit for the collective. I predicted that as more and more of our trading partners and foreign investors divest of the Greenback due to the dollar collapse the government will commandeer all retirement vehicles to invest in government T-Bills in a futile attempt to shore up the dollar. Then we will be in the same boat as Cyprus, Greece, and other nations whose workers will be forced to work until they die at their workstations of exhaustion. However, we will not have had the previous benefits of Socialist free lunch of retiring at full pay at 55 years of age as the previously sited nations once did. Of course, this has changed even for them, as they work at whatever jobs they can get to make ends meet.
rumors of wars…
Boston bombing could have U.S.-Russia implications
In recent years, Russia watchers say that cooperation on security matters has diminished as the USA and Russia increasingly find themselves at odds on a host of issues, ranging from the war in Syria to corruption in Moscow.
Edit. Like a great ball of knitting yarn, when you pull one loose string all others are effected. The Chechen connections has many implication not only for the USA, who was directly affected, but for other nations, including Russia who has seen horrendous terrorist attacks spawned from this troubled area of the North Caucasus. Many of the implications of this Boston Marathon bombing are obvious and many are hidden. Among the hidden is the apparent previous connection with the suspects to the FBI. Another is the ignoring of media and government of the Islamic aspects of the incident as well as the fact of our tacit and direct support and cooperation with the pretended Syrian Rebels among who are many Islamic Chechens. As in much of the so-called War on Terror, the outrages on the part of all parties are blatant while the causes remain subtle if not veiled.
Undoubtedly we will hear more about this incident in the weeks to come, but nothing of substance as to the real causes, implications and ramifications of it, unless it could be further used to curb our liberties.
Francis and Vatican II: “There’s no turning back”
Effectively Pope Francis has called traditionalist Catholics “stubborn and hardheaded”
“Now,” the Pope continued – “we are all content with the Holy Spirit’. No, that is not true! This is still today’s temptation. “And we are like Peter at the Transfiguration: ‘Oh, how wonderful it is for us to be here, all together!’ But let it not inconvenience us.” “There is something more: there are voices which would have us go backwards. This is called ‘to be stiff-necked’, this we call wishing ‘to subdue the Holy Spirit’, this means becoming ‘foolish and slow of heart’,” the Pope added. In his homily, Francis gave a clear example: the Second Vatican Council which we would like to celebrate but without experiencing its consequences.
Edit. Perhaps this statement of “no turning back” is what is causing those who have been stalwart against the Modernism of the NewChurch, the banner of which Archbishop Lefebvre held high, to lose heart and assume a mindset of capitulation. We do not, however, have the option to give in to the overwhelming onslaught of the dubious “spirit” of VCII. We are not called to give so much and no more; we are called, as the martyrs of old to give our all and not count the costs. As those loyal to Christ and His Church we must not only fight on but redouble our efforts.
Catholic rebel group begins criticizing new pope
A rebel Catholic group at the heart of major controversies that plagued former Pope Benedict has begun criticizing his successor Pope Francis for the popular approach he has taken since his election last month.
In a letter to supporters this week, the head of the ultra- traditionalist Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) asked whether the new pontiff’s focus on serving people could be only “man-centered philanthropy” rather than true religious leadership.
Bishop Bernard Fellay’s sharp criticisms of the Vatican attracted attention during Benedict’s papacy because the now retired head of the Roman Catholic Church wanted to reintegrate the once-excommunicated group fully into the Roman fold.
Edit. As all traditional Catholics know there is much within this article that is a distortion at best and an outright lie at worst. First, the Latin Mass, (the Tridentine Rite of Mass), did not need to be “allowed wider use” as it was never abrogated; and could never be abrogated as it was guaranteed by the Council of Trent in perpetuity. As regards the lifting of the excommunication of the Bishops, this item does not even require the justification of a response as the alleged excommunication never existed.
So now what exactly is the status of the SSPX and its lay adherents? Well, now that all the smoke and dust of the internal struggle is beginning to lift we can take comfort that we are certainly within the Catholic Church, the claim of full communion notwithstanding. In addition, now that the restlessness of recognition at any costs has seemingly dissipated, it is time to get back to teaching the Faith as it was handed down, not only from the good Archbishop Lefebvre, but from all those inspired hierarchy before him going back to Christ and His Apostles. Preaching the Truth in season and out of season has been the strength of the SSPX from its outset all those decades ago.
It is now the mandate of tradition, most especially those of the SSPX, to regroup, unconditionally forgive, and readmit to good graces all those, clergy and laity alike, who have been cut off and ostracized from communion, (in the sense of fellowship) and Sacraments within the Society’s chapels. Our strength is our immovable and determined stance and association. It is now time to rebuild confidences and assurances that the traditional Catholic Faith of Eternal Rome be preserved and promulgated once again worldwide. It is a time of healing the deep wound within the ranks of the SSPX and although the healing may be long, with the reassurance of the loyal leadership of regaining of the mantle of His Excellency Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, of happy memory, it is not insurmountable. While the chief warriors of the fight for the traditional Catholic Faith, that is, the SSPX, may be limping from the partially self-inflicted wounds of battle, these wounds are not mortal unless we choose to make them so by further ostracizing and marginalizing members and former comrades in arms. Let us pray for right and orthodox thinking among all parties involved in this internal struggle that they may resume their place as the standard bearer of the banner of Christ and His Church. Let us also pray that our leadership and all members of the SSPX clergy keep firmly in front of them the vision of the salvation of souls who are entrusted to their care. A further breach of confidence may cause irrevocable harm to countless souls who have entrusted the Society with its care.
Finally, let us ever bear in mind that we are meant to be fully united to the Vatican and the universal Catholic Church but it is now up to them to show clear and concrete signs of returning to the traditional Catholic Faith and worship, not just the window dressing of freeing the Latin Mass and lifting of non-existent excommunications. Pray for the unity of our Catholic Faith long-term and the immediate reuniting of our beloved Society, which has for decades been guided by the Holy Ghost.
Health and Wellness: formerly called Emerging Illnesses (Pestilence)…
US rice imports ‘contain harmful levels of lead’
Analysis of commercially available rice imported into the US has revealed it contains levels of lead far higher than regulations suggest are safe.
“So we can only conclude that they can potentially cause harmful effects.”
That factor of 120 (12 times higher than 10 times the PTTI) alluded to by Dr Tongesayi is for Asian children, who are most susceptible by virtue of age and comparatively high rice intake on average.
For non-Asian adults the excesses above the PTTI ranged from 20 to 40.
Rice from China and Taiwan had the highest lead levels, but Dr Tongesayi stressed that all of the samples significantly exceeded the PTTIs.
Edit. In the headlong rush to create a diversified, equitable, and widespread New World Order the socio-economic engineers of today are trying to find every source of resources to share in the global markets. Never mind, that the USA is more than amply blessed to be its own breadbasket we are, thanks to increasingly global NWO, now reliant on foodstuffs from a myriad of unstable and questionable nations as trading partners. China, since it is our main credit holder, gets preferential treatment, if not officially certainly defacto. Meantime, they have over the years sold us dangerous items that are not allowed American manufacturers. Remember, the lead paint that was found in toys imported from China; as well as suspected killer dog food several years back? Our political leaders in an effort to line their own pockets are allowing such things through their less than honest legislative actions in ostensibly protecting American citizens from such dangers as outlined in this article.
the times they are a changin’…
IRS tracks your digital footprint
The IRS has quietly upgraded its technology so tax collectors can track virtually everything people do online.
The agency declined to comment on how it will use its new technology. But agency officials have been outlining plans at industry conferences, working with IBM, EMC and other private-sector specialists. In presentations, officials have said they may use the big data for:
- Charting and analyzing social media such as Facebook.
- Targeting audits by matching tax filings to social media or electronic payments.
- Tracking individual Internet addresses and emailing patterns.
- Sorting data in 32,000 categories of metadata and 1 million unique “attributes.”
- Machine learning across “neural” networks.
- Statistical and agent-based modeling.
- Relationship analysis based on Social Security numbers and other personal identifiers.
Edit. Back when Social Security was first organized and mandated the citizenry was concerned with privacy issues and how much their government should know about them. Seeing what is happening today they would be scared senseless, yet the average American today would scarce give it a yawn before reaching for the chips and the remote control. Truly much has changed since then not just in the technology but in the attitude of the people themselves. So you still think social media postings of private information including photos is a good thing? Think again, just subscribing to Twitter, Facebook, etc. gives whoever a carte blanche to your most private information. This is to say nothing of the now digitized public records such as real estate purchases, vehicle registration and taxes, and a myriad of other public accessed records on each of us. Indeed, that was how the Gannett Newspaper publishing giant was able to list in their publications the names of concealed carry holders for Westchester and Rockland Counties in New York.

Banished! Historic ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ flag
City determines popular banner ‘too partisan’
It was after an official ceremony on March 21 at the New Rochelle Armory that a new American flag was unfurled to replace the previous weathered flag that flew at the location. Beneath the new American flag, the yellow Gadsden Flag was flown, as is common tradition on many military sites.
However, within a week of the ceremony, City Manager Chuck Strome ordered the Gadsden flag be taken down because of “unidentified
Edit. Once a proud symbol of our independence and liberty the Gadsden Flag is now relegated to a disparaging status as a symbol of another disparaged and disapproved element of our times; the grass roots Tea Party. Why is it that groups and symbols that made our country so great in the past are now trodden underfoot as symbols of hate, violence, and radicalism. Groups like the National Rifle Association, the Boy Scouts, religious denominations, the flags of the Confederacy and Gadsden are all viewed by the populous as deleterious to a healthy society. Perhaps the citizenry is drinking the Kool-Aid of our new Socialist / Communist NWO engineers?
Let the men of wisdom speak…
It seems in our tumultuous times Men of Wisdom, whether secular or religious, are becoming as scarce as hen’s teeth. Suffice it to say after scouring the various books and resources at my command I couldn’t find an appropriate quote to go with this week’s issue.
Perhaps I should quote the Holy Ghost by simply stating: Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. Psalms 46:10
This week at Hunny-Bunny I mowed my lawn for the first time this season. The lawn mower, much to my relief started up without a hitch or hiccup, and I was able to do both the front and back lawns after clearing the area of all larger branches and deadfall from the blustery winter. Whatever remained of the small twigs was ground up in the blades of the mower and now I, once again, have a nice velvety lawn composed of weeds and wild grasses.
In the greenhouse my whitefly problem is getting out of hand despite my daily blasting of all plants with a hose. I’m most especially perplexed because they particularly relish my edible plants, herbs, and greens while ignoring my ornamentals like the geraniums. I will try using the Hot Pepper Wax Spray which is only a stop-gap measure until I receive my whitefly traps which are on back order. Meantime, I’m reluctant to start any further seedlings until I receive the traps. Part of the control of whitefly in the greenhouse is to clean and disinfect all surfaces within. This was done and additionally, I repainted all woodwork and walls. After all these preparations I should not have had any problems this season but it is worse than ever. Working with nature you quickly learn that the best laid plans of men are oft helpless.
This week we also had some veterinary emergencies. It seems that our Golden Retriever, Jack, presented as if he were dying. He is older, but not old. We estimated that he was about 8 years old as he and a companion, (now long since gone) came to us in the middle of the night several years ago. As it turns out after taking him to the vet, we now estimate his age at about 10. Anyhow, he was seemingly seeing his end of days, so I took him to the vet to relieve his suffering either through pain killing or euthanasia. They found several tick borne illnesses, including Lime’s and anaplasia, plus a slight kidney and bladder infection which did cause some chronic malfunctioning of his kidney. The doc’s advice was that all was recoverable once the infections were cleared but that he would need testing and eventually a special “kidney” diet. Keep in mind our philosophy on pets is that we give them a good life and home and if they get severely ill we allow nature to takes its course of put them down. Anyhow, we began an anti-biotic therapy and scheduled him for a follow-up visit. Although he slowly showed minor signs of improvement I was still not convinced that this illness wouldn’t be the one to do him in. So reluctantly, I undertook the grim task of digging a grave in the yard, next to where his wandering companion of years gone by, Tyler, lay. However, upon the second visit and a small realm’s king’s ransom later, he bounced completely back to his old self. We have much follow-up work to do including tri-weekly subdural fluid injection of electrolytes which consist of an intravenous-like bag in a blood pressure cuff which I inject under his skinfolds. This is only temporary, but is a necessary step to flush all infection from his system. Unfortunately, he will be on a steady “kidney” diet which runs about $90 / 25 lb. bag. This should give him a new lease on life and give us a few more good years of loyal companionship. Meantime, today I will refill the grave, much to the relief of the family most especially the grandkids.
With the lawn cleaned and mowed it is now time to turn my full attention to the vegetable and herb garden cleaning and preparing the soil and mulch. As the readers may recall I bought several bales of salt hay last spring and it is still intact on the ground in the main vegetable garden. Therefore, only a light clearing of the surface for planting and replacement the same mulch back in place will be essentially all that is needed for this upcoming season. That and a side dressing of well cured compost will be the extent of my garden preps for this year’s garden.
Meantime, the chickens have increased laying with the increased daylight. Even my old hen has started relaying in the presence of the younger laying hens, so we are getting between 5 and 6 eggs per day. The rabbits meantime, should be kindling within 9 or 10 days. So meat and egg production are proceeding apace.
Putting It all In Perspective & Final commentary…
The events of the past week in Boston and vicinity are horrendous to say the least and our hearts and prayers are with them. This as well as, other global events only underscore the increasing violence within our society worldwide. As we approach the pivotal year of 2017 it is increasing evident that we need the Pope and all the Bishops to Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
So pray fervently and without tiring the Rosary for this purpose, the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the hour glass of 100 years is quickly draining.
