The New Theology

Give a little Whistle!

“How am I doin’?”

As summer ends, the Vatican has once again taken up the rigors of the business of running the Church. Leading the return to the work is Pope Francis I, who, among other things, resumed his catechesis from the balcony of the Vatican in front of a crowd of 90,000 Faithful. To these he said: The Church and the Virgin Mary are both mothers. And what can be said about the Church can also be said about the Virgin and what can be said about the Virgin can also be said about the Church, thus beginning his teaching, Francis concluding the first paragraph thus: Do we love the Church as we do our own mothers, accepting her with all her flaws? Everyone has flaws, but when these are mentioned we try to cover them up! Do we help make her more beautiful and more genuine?

What can we make of this novel teaching? To begin with there is much to refute the above statements, indeed, too many to list here but let it suffice with just these few from Popes of the pre-Vatican II era:

“…although one of the Church’s marks is holiness because she is holy in her Founder, holy in her teaching, holy in the sanctity of a great many of her members, nonetheless she has also within her bosom many members who are not holy, who afflict and persecute and misjudge her.”

(Pope Pius IX, Allocution to Pilgrims from Savoy, Sept. 15, 1876; excerpted in Papal Teachings: The Church, p. 246)

“‘She is a garden enclosed, my sister, my spouse, a garden enclosed, a fountain sealed’ [Cant 4:12]. These words of Holy Scripture are applied, according to the Fathers, to the Catholic Church, the immaculate spouse of Christ….”

(Pope Leo XIII, Decretal Hortus Conclusus, Dec. 15, 1881; excerpted in Papal Teachings: The Church, p. 246)

“In fact, only a miracle of that divine power could preserve the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, from blemish in the holiness of Her doctrine, law, and end in the midst of the flood of corruption and lapses of her members.”

(Pope St. Pius X, Encyclical Editae Saepe, par. 8)

“Now all this array of priceless educational treasures which We have barely touched upon, is so truly a property of the Church as to form her very substance, since she is the mystical body of Christ, the immaculate spouse of Christ, and consequently a most admirable mother and an incomparable and perfect teacher.”

(Pope Pius XI, Encyclical Divini Illius Magistri, par. 101)

“…the Church, although human faults can be found in her, is always the Church of Christ, and, as such, true and infallible in preserving and transmitting the sacred deposit of faith, that is, of truth and heavenly grace; and she is holy, in fact, the very same ‘Church of God, which He purchased with his blood’ [Acts 20:28]. God is always great and wonderful in his works, but He is especially to be considered so where his greatest charity is shown forth, where his most abundant redemption in our regard is made perfect, namely in the Catholic Church.”

(Pope Pius XII, Allocution to the Students of the Gregorianum, Oct. 17, 1953; excerpted in Papal Teachings: The Church, p. 695)

Could it get any worse?

As if the above statement of His Holiness, Pope Francis I, were not enough, he has since made other statements, which like his “failure to judge”, statement on the return to Rome from Brazil, undermine not only his papal authority, but also the authority of the Church to teach, sanctify, and govern the Faithful. Just this week, in a Jesuit article simultaneously printed in all Jesuit journals and magazines throughout the world, he states that to date the Church’s stand on abortion, Sodomy, and birth control, the triple tailed scourges of our era, are too narrow an emphasis for the Church, and that we should focus on a welcoming attitude for sinners of all stripes, since we are effectively a Church of sinners. Certainly, this is true we are, humanly speaking; a Church of sinners, but it does not mean we wallow in our sin without reforming our lives to conform to the Divine Will of God. We must be vigilant because the devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. This means we must relinquish our aborting, Sodomitic, and life limiting culture of death, even now found universally throughout the Church.

Another statement, or teaching, if you will, is just prior to the above he stated that it was indeed possible for atheist to enter heaven, as long as they acted in good conscience in their beliefs. Note he mentions nothing about recanting, repentance, reformation, and conformation with the Will of God through the Sacred Magisterium of His Church.

In summary, His Holiness, Pope Francis I, expounds the modern notion to: Always Let Your Conscience be Your Guide. See ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOZzNOkcEgM ).

Even the arch-heresiarch Martin Luther acknowledged sin, though he believe we could go on sinning because our faith in God covered our transgressions like snow covers a dunghill. It would seem to me that Pope Francis I has employed the services of Disney’s Jiminy Cricket as the papal chaplain, despite the myriad of orthodox Popes, Doctors, Saints, and Teachers from which to choose.

Most Shocking of All

The most shocking aspect of all is little if anything is heard from the traditional Catholic leadership of the traditional Catholic Movement within the Church in the face of all the false teachings of the past 6 months of the new papacy. They simply sit on their hands and whistle. By their silence they are complicit in the destruction and dismantling of God’s Catholic Church. This tells me that they are not willing to risk their new relationship with the Vatican, which has been ongoing for the past several years; and that despite all objections to the contrary they are still committed to reconciliation with Modernist Rome at all costs. Even the so-called hardliners within the ranks of SSPX remain ominously silent in the continuing onslaught of the Spotless Bride of Christ, as souls are lost. Such inaction speaks volumes because it undermines all that the traditional priests have taught in the past from the pulpits and during the retreats. They are quick to point out that the blood of martyrs is the nourishment of the tree of Faith, yet they sit in fear of speaking the Truth, in and out of season, for fear of reassignment to some back-water outpost chapel or being placed on sabbatical. The luxury of silence in the face of the rape and plunder of Holy Mother Church is one any truly Faithful Catholic, priest and lay alike, cannot afford. The monolithic stance of tradition must be reconstructed in order to stand the onslaughts of Modernism that effectively is the Novus Ordo Church. To reconcile with such a freakish monster of the Catholic Faith is to betray the Faith of our father’s and a second kiss of Judas to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are complicit by their inaction at this time should remember that sometime soon, for life is short, they will be called to give account before the awful Judge and the time for whistling will be over.

Pray the Rosary daily for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart; times grows short.

About Catholic Rural Solutions

This group is for the practical application of Catholic Distributist teachings as promoted by Pope St. Pius X, Belloc, Chesterton, Maurin and others in the 20th century. This group is also a respite for traditional Catholics who adhere to the Tridentine Rite of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and who share a concern for small independent Catholic communities throughout the world. These communities while primarily small holding farmers, craftsmen and tradesman all espouse an integrated life based on Catholic Social Justice and the Sacred Magisterium of the Church. Through this we intend to inject the Distributist economic principles into the greater society. Please fell free to share your experiences in this vein. Flaming, proselytizing and persecution WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
