…And Never the Twain Shall Meet?!?!?!

…And Never the Twain Shall Meet?!?!?

Since the crisis of the SSPX emerged from the occult shadows more than two years ago, it has been my observation, (and my vocalization to anyone who will listen), that the main thrust of the efforts is to forge a “new” hybrid Catholic that will essentially accept the melding of the old Rite, wrongly termed the Extraordinary Rite, with the new rite, commonly known as the Novus Ordo. Largely, this is being accomplished by marginalizing the old fighters against the radical changes of the Vatican Council II revolution that were essential and integral to the founding of the Society of St. Pius X by His Excellency, of happy memory, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.
Over the many months while voicing my observations on this trend of marginalizing the old and grooming the new young Catholic, I’ve been told that it was not by design …yes, possibly by happenstance, but certainly not intentional; or at worst, largely a figment of my alleged conspiratorial mindset. Yet, as time goes on and concessions are made by attrition to Modernist Rome it has become increasingly evident that all things are falling into place. For example, why would the SSPX retain the services of a Madison Avenue type of PR firm to help people conform to new ways of operation if, as we are simultaneously being told, nothing has changed? Obviously, this is a far ranging and insidious agenda hatched by collusion between the Modernists of Rome and the Neo-con traditional Catholics to fuse an unholy alliance of false unity by making a semblence-of-tradition acceptable to Rome.
To prove my point, I submit the following taken from a conservative Novus Ordo cleric who owns and operates a widely read and disseminated website known as Patheos.com. Here is what he has to say about the fight of traditional Catholicism and the new path that is being blazed:
Fifty years after the revolution of the Second Vatican Council we are moving on from the tensions it created. Those tensions existed because Catholics kept comparing the pre-Vatican II church to the post-Vatican II church. The ones who did this most were the folks who went through the Vatican II revolution. The Vatican II modern Catholics–for their whole life–could not help but compare the “new” church to the “old” church. Everything was viewed through that lens. A pope, bishop, priest or theologian was therefore either “conservative” and “pre Vatican 2″ and trying to turn the clock back or they were “liberal” in favor of the “Spirit of Vatican 2″ and progressive.
To be blunt, those people are old. Not only are they dying out, but their ideas are dying out. Their places are being taken by a younger generation of Catholics who do not remember the Vatican 2 wars. The old folks would like to brand the young Catholics as “conservatives” or “traditionalists” or even “arch conservatives”. Some of them are, but most of them are not. They are young. They’re smart and they simply want to be Catholic. They’re not buying into the whole liberal agenda, but most of them also don’t care that much for the traditionalist agenda.
These are the young people who are filing traditional religious orders with young vocations.

In essence, though he is demonizing the liberal Catholic,  by inference, he is stating traditional Catholic Action, so long thought heroic by those who participated in it, is a quaint and dying effort. He further implies that we must take the best quality of it, which is the fervor for the Faith, and infuse it in the now blended Catholic Faith. [Aside: It is interesting to note that this young vs. old ploy is a key ruse of the Socialists / Communists in furthering their agendas, both past and present.] In a nutshell he is saying that “Vatican 2 Wars” are outmoded notions and it is time to progress, (remember, the definition of liberal is progressive), to use the fervor of the traditional movement and judiciously take a measured portion of this traditional fervor using predominantly the progressive concepts of Vatican Council II to forge a new Catholic, thereby a new Catholic Faith.
So we see that a new tack is being undertaken in the usurpation of the Catholic Faith. This time a large and powerful component of the traditional wing is being wrested to accomplish by attrition what 50 years of the revolution of Vatican Council II failed to do. Perhaps this conservative Fr. Longnecker is correct, because the next generation of traditional Catholics did not participate in the counter-revolution of the VCII tumult; they no longer feel the need to preserve what went before. I contend however, that, at least for American traditional Catholics, they have gotten fat and slovenly in their Faith. With few exceptions, they no longer have the stomach … the true grit for the good fight of Faith; to speak bluntly they’ve become lukewarm. They are materialistic and lack a clear spirit of self-sacrifice that has been inculcated in the Faith since Apostolic times. They read little and rely on the word, guidance, and advice of like-minded lax clerics who reinforce their slovenly Faith.
Mass RockBe that as it may, there is clearly… clearly, a coordinated effort by both the Novus Ordo Catholics and the neo-traditional Catholics who have capitulated to forge a new “hybrid” order of the Faith. Yet, we who cling to Eternal Rome and to our traditional Catholic Faith, dogmas, and doctrine’s need not despair because Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us that on His return there would be few who held the Faith. SO watch and pray, for the time of our redemption may be nearer than we think.

About Catholic Rural Solutions

This group is for the practical application of Catholic Distributist teachings as promoted by Pope St. Pius X, Belloc, Chesterton, Maurin and others in the 20th century. This group is also a respite for traditional Catholics who adhere to the Tridentine Rite of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and who share a concern for small independent Catholic communities throughout the world. These communities while primarily small holding farmers, craftsmen and tradesman all espouse an integrated life based on Catholic Social Justice and the Sacred Magisterium of the Church. Through this we intend to inject the Distributist economic principles into the greater society. Please fell free to share your experiences in this vein. Flaming, proselytizing and persecution WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Your article is timely. We were visiting friends in O’Fallon Illinois last month and went to mass at St Nicholas Catholic Church during the feast of St Peter and St Paul. The Preist spoke about the younger priests and laypersons trying to bring back traditional Latin Mass. He mentioned he had been at a conference in St Louis with over 250 other Priests. They came together to “try and preserve what Vatican II has accomplished”. He mentioned that the Priests that were there were very old. And that the priesthood that brought in Vatican II are dying off and the younger Preists are wanting more conservative or traditional Mass. He mentioned that married priest should be allowed, women should be ordained and play a larger role in the church. Guess who did the readings, Eucharistic ministers and alter servers? All women. Men were ushers and collected the offerings.

Was it ironic that we did not know this was a very liberal church? My wife and daughter wear veils and we happened to be in his line to take communion! Maybe God was trying to tell him something.

We have experienced this in our lives. We had a very outspoken and traditional priest with the Institute of Christ the King. The local authorities did not like the true and authentic faith being preached and TAUGHT TO OUR CHILDREN. So they were given the boot and a diocesan priest was given charge of our lot. Now its all smells and bells and “be nice and play nice.” So sad for a rural parish that had the true faith.
